On Tuesday, Jnuary 21 at 4:00 pm in Room 313 of the State House, testimony will be heard on Senate Bill No. 2004.
Submitted by Coyne, Ruggerio, Lynch-Prata, Goodwin and McCaffrey, it is entitled AN ACT RELATING TO CRIMINAL OFFENSES – WEAPONS 9Prohibits the manufacturing, importation, sale, shipment, delivery, possession, or transfer of any firearm that is undetectable by metal detectors comonly used in airports and public uildings including 3D printer firearms.
This bill was written in response to speculation that a gun used in a Pawtucket shooting was 3D printed. The RI State Police recently stated that the gun in question was most likely NOT 3D printed.
