NRC’s Beginning Youth Program meets from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on the 2nd and 3rd Friday evenings of each month between September and May. Youths between 8 and 16 are welcome to attend.
Each session begins with a range safety brief to ensure that all shooters are aware of firearm and range safety principles and regulations. First-time shooters also view a firearms orientation and safety video prior to entering the range.
All shooting is done in the prone position using supported .22 target rifles. Each one or two shooters is supervised by a coach, who provides instruction tailored to each shooter and monitors for safe procedure.
Youths wishing to shoot at these events must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian. There is no cost to participate.
