Every first Saturday of the month is range clean up day. It is a great opportunity to fulfill your annual range volunteer quota as well as congregate with other club members. This is a 40 shot course of fire using military bolt action rifles, with iron sights, as issued.

first course is 10 shots standing, slow fire.

second course is 10 shots seated slow fire.

third course is 2 strings of rapid fire prone, 5 shots in 35 seconds.

final course is 10 shots prone slow fire.

Each session begins with a range safety brief to ensure that all shooters are aware of firearm and range safety principles and regulations. First-time shooters also view a firearms orientation and safety video prior to entering the range. All shooting is done in the prone position using supported .22 target rifl

The Newport Rifle Club holds monthly Sunday Service Rifle Matches on the last Sunday of the month during the fall and winter months.

This is a high power/center fire match where the participant uses a U.S. Service rifle.

Examples are U.S. Krag Rifle, Model 1917, Springfield 1903, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M1A, AR-15.

This month’s course of fire will be 10 shots at the NMLRA single bullseye target at 40 yards, offhand.

You must be qualified for muzzleloader in the outdoor range to participate.

The NRC monthly meeting is held in the upstairs range beginning at 7:30 pm.  Members are encouraged to attend in person.

Muzzleloader (rifle) clinic and qualification 9-12. Will review safe loading, firing and dealing with common malfunctions. Will review NRC outdoor range muzzleloading procedures (per the NRC P&P) Will review the course of fire for outdoor muzzleloading rifle range qualifications and shoot for qualification (rifle).
